A utility bike is the most popular type of bicycles available, it is estimated that 73% of all circulating bicycles are utility bicycles. All utility bicycles are designed to be durable and long lasting. They are often equipped with a basket in the front or rear for the riders belongings.
Mountain bicycles are extremely popular in rural areas and even for tourists visiting places of rough terrain. They are designed for off road cycling and are built to withstand the wear and tear of the wild. Mountain bikes are typically made from heavy metals to promote safety and stability for off road biking. Additionally their tires are usually thick and have deep tread and various levels of suspension. Additionally the mountain bicycle was the first to introduce the gearing system that is now common on all types of bikes.
